I consider my formal education and my life experiences of equal importance. At The College of New Jersey I studied Advertising Design and received a BFA—graduating magna cum laude. Over the past 20 years I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing people who became great mentors to me. I continue to learn and continue to pass on what I've learned to another generation of designers.

My first introduction into the field of design was at the age of six when my parents decided to turn my drawing into their Christmas card. It was the seventies and my folks were into experimenting with linoleum block printing and introducing their children to a creative outlet. I went on to pursue additional printing techniques from screen printing to running an offset printing press before studying graphic design.

About the Designer

I have a broad range of design experience and have worked in all aspects of the field. With my history in the printing field, I have gained extensive knowledge of all printing applications and their unique challenges. I developed excellent technical skills that have served me well in three-dimensional/hands-on designing such as packaging and product development. Although I continue to learn and grow, I consider my computer skills at a master level in Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and InDesign. I possess additional skills in video-editing/animation software using programs like Flash, Camtasia, iMovie and Final Cut Pro.

The most important skill I possess is the ability to let a design come to life and not force a design onto a piece. As a designer, it is my job to be able to create all types of designs. Knowing when to be whimsical or structured, dynamic or reserved, historical or cutting edge is key in a design grabbing the attention of your target market.

In addition, I offer tutoring session in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. If you are interested in learning these programs, contact me to schedule a session.
